Uncovering the Gem

Because of all my meet-ups last week, God spoke to me through many many people. It's really good to just be available and meet up with people (even if it means sacrificing a night of gaming) because you never know when God's gonna use them to speak to you.

That week was really horror for me because of mid terms and I was so tired after all the meet-ups and running here and there. I literally couldn't differentiate the days and I had to constantly remind myself I had papers to do. By the end of the week, I was shack, but never felt more refreshed; because finally, I could untie the knot in my heart.

A lot of stuff has been weighing on me; stuff that has been carried down since the year began. I thought I had laid them all down but I guess I was wrong. But thank God that today, I know that all these are behind me and I am going to continue where I'd left off.

The year began with me focusing on my purpose in life and also to help my cell group discover their purpose in life. It's October now and I have yet to accomplish anything because of all those nonsense that had happened throughout the year. The year began very beautifully but things happened and really distracted me big time; it took me off-track. I'm just very disgusted that I got put off-track just like that when I already had a beautiful and wonderful plan for the year. But I guess through this experience, God taught me something and once and for all gave me a new spirit to continue the work although I don't really have much time left.

Yet my quote remains: "A pen is useless if there isn't a need to write."

Similarly, we will never realise our potential if we fail to realise what our purpose in life is. I figured that our potential has to do with our gifts and talents because that's what God gave us talents for; to use for His glory. And all of us has a purpose in life because God created us and He has plans for us. Or rather, He already had plans even before we were born.

I thank God for the growth in the cell group, for the bonding, for the wisdom, because it was never my work. The growth in them can only be a miracle because I had never meant to grow in them those things that they are now. The potential other people see in them now is the same potential I saw in them when they first came into the cell group; I never knew how good they were but I believed they would amount to something one day. I can only conclude that God blesses the faithful.

Because of what dear and I had been talking about for nights, it got me thinking how I should help my members discover their gifts and talents and finally realise their purpose in life. This is really abstract because I've never heard any leader speak of this before. It's like finally I've been released from the forms and structure of the church! HAHA. So anyway, I was so excited I began to ask God how I should go about doing it. I even had people in mind to ask for tips and strategies to help members realise their potential and stuff. The conversation with God didn't go on for very long and it ended with this:

1. God created all of us, so He knows our blueprints. He is the only one, if not us, who truly knows what our purpose in life is. duh. I got this either from Purpose Driven Life or the Japanese, American, Israeli pastor.
2. You will never realise your potential if you don't accept who you are.

I got number 2 when God related my life story to me. I would have had the chance to do an honours in math or even masters and proceed to a phd if I had just be humble and accepted who I was. Now I'm just treading on thin ice because I thought math was for geeks and I wasn't a geek. Now I'm just probably going to regret for the many math modules that I wouldn't be able to take even though they interest me like anything in the world.

In life, you win some, you lose some. This wisdom I've gained is far more precious than any knowledge I'll have to memorise and might have no use in life. I guess this is what they call life lessons.

In the end, I have to go back to reading purpose driven life and there probably is something in there waiting for me to uncover. So it's kinda back to square one. Haha.

Well, I'm glad that at least I'm going somewhere :)
